Recently I was in discussion with a fellow networker. He was extolling the virtues of his online marketing prowess which eliminated the need for talking to friends and family (F&F).
While I appreciate the point about the RoW (rest of the world) being the place to prospect, I wouldn't discard the importance of the F&F interaction. Here's why:
1. If you haven't shared your plan with friends and family (F&F) you have not practiced at the nets. Any pro understands the importance of net practice and developing emotional muscle before the real game
2. If after sharing with F&F you're a 'no-friends-left' guy/gal, you have not grown into someone worthy of following and you perhaps never will... so network marketing or any leadership driven enterprise is perhaps not for you
3. If rejection by F&F brings about the end of your dreams you've passed the litmus test for non-trepreneur. Any real entrepreneur knows better than to shut his enterprise because his brother in law won't buy his stuff
4. If your F&F join your business with someone else... that's mighty stupid
I trust this post will help anyone wondering whether they are doing right. Remember if your F&F are throwing you out you're right on track! Build a big business in the new year!!
PS: While on the subject, here's how you get smart about RoW
